Tom Gilruth Managing Director

Tom is responsible for the service delivery to existing customers and for developing new business. As a keen sportsman Tom believes in success through the continuous improvement formula. He encourages his team to improve every aspect of their performance, however small, every day for overall competitive advantage.

Whilst we have the secure facilities, IT and the controls to ensure the safe handling of our customer's information we know that it is our team that are actually the face of our business. Having professional, knowledgeable and motivated staff is critical to our reputation and growth. The training and fair rewarding of our staff is the key to our success.

Team Members

Mark Parry Driver

Mark has been in the confidential waste industry for years. His care and commitment to customer service has been rewarded with a new shred truck added to the fleet in July 2017. Mark is a coach at Malpas Football Club at the weekends.

Dave Burns Driver

Every business needs a Dave…he joined Topwood in 2010 and does everything. He drives, run the shredders and can man the office. At the weekends is on the Motocross circuits of north Shropshire.

Kelvin Jones Driver

Kelvin admits to many years’ experience! He is a true ambassador for the Company and much of the good feedback from customers is down to his personal service. He is a lifelong supporter of Wrexham football club…!

Meg Rudge Sales Admin

With a degree in Business Mangement Meg is well placed to help find the five tonnes of paper a day needed to keep the new shred truck busy! When not working Meg (and Charlie her horse) compete in British Eventing.

Elizabeth Vanderpump Scanning Cordinator

Having just completed a degree in history Elizabeth is now engaging her organisational skill in scheduling the scanning business to ensure the scanners are capturing their target rate of 150,000 images per week.

Pete Woollam Driver

Pete is well known around Malpas. He joined the Topwood team in Aug-17 having previously worked for Barlows Fire & Security as well as a local transport and storage firm. He is proud to be driving one of the best mobile shred trucks available and enjoys showing customers it’s efficiency!

Cameron Burns Driver

Cam brings youth to the team and is responsible for picking archived files and boxes from store and getting them delivered on time to offices across the North West. The demanding physical work at Topwood has allowed him to give up his gym membership!

Phil Henney Driver

Phil has previously driven for a number of businesses based on Wrexham Industrial Estate. Phil is an SIA approved security guard so he had all the credentials to drive and operate a high security shred truck due Oct-18.

Bob Carter IT and Systems

As a founder of the GB Group Bob is the expert who keeps Topwood’s IT and software fully compliant with information security require ISO27001. When not working Bob loves cricket.

Chris Whelan Accounts & HR

Chris is responsible for keeping a control on the finances. Her experience at GB Group means she has a keen eye for streamlining administration and taking out costs where possible.

Shirley Carter Systems Administrator

Shirley manages all the systems and databases. The task includes ensuring the document management and scanning software are fully integrated with other functions. Shirley is a keen gardener and keeps Topwood looking great.
